    Uniform Policy:

    Here at Nicky Jenks we like our students to be in uniform at all times. This helps the students with their discipline and helps them feel ready to engage and focus in class, as well as looking great. It is also important to help teachers in class, help students with the right technique correct alignment.
     
    All uniform can be purchased from the following 2 websites. Please ensure you purchase the correct colour leotard for your child in relation to their Ballet Grade. If you unsure please speak to their teacher.

    Ballet
     
    Girls
     
    Students in Ballet are expected in the correct colour leotard and or skirt with tight fitting Ballet shoes and socks or tights. Wrap around logo cardigans are allowed to be worn when needed! No other t-shirts, vests or shorts should be warn. Students should also wear a waistband matching their leotard. These can. Be purchased on most dance websites, though for graded students these should come with the leotard.

    Once students are in Grade 1-8 they should also have a character skirt and correct height character shoes. This can all be found on the website uniform page.

    Students Grade 6-8 also need a shin length chiffon full circular skirt and a free movement scarf. All can be purchased on the website, or your teacher can advise where these can be bought from.

    Hair should be up in a neat classical ballet bun. Students in grade 3 and above should be doing these themselves. Students in Pre-Primary or Primary can wear hair in ponytail or neat and up, where it's not possible to get into a bun!

    Boys

    Students should be in white leotard along with navy blue or black shorts or leggings. White socks and tight fitting Ballet shoes. Students in pre-primary or Primary can wear plain white or logo shirt with shorts.
     
    Acro

    Girls
     
    Students should wear their Ballet leotard or a black leotard with logo shorts or leggings. Optional footless tights. All students should be in bare feet. No other clothing should be warn due to health and safety in the class.
     
    Hair should be up, neat and off the face. Any students with their hair down will be asked to put it up. Fringes and any straggling bits should be clipped back.
     
    Boys

    Students should wear leotard and shorts or leggings. Clothing must be tight due to the nature of the class.
     
    Modern
     
    Girls
     
    Primary - Grade 3
    Students should be in their Navy leotard with black  shorts. Optional logo vest or tshirt can be warn. All tops must be logo uniform. Jazz shoes optional.
     
    Grade 4 +
    Students should be in their Navy leotard. Jazz shoes optional.
     
    Hair should be up, neat and off the face. Any students with their hair down will be asked to put it up. Fringes and any straggling bits should be clipped back.
     
    Boys
    Students should wear shorts or leggings with logo top or leotard. Jazz shoes optional
     
    Tap
     
    Girls and boys
    Students should wear the modern uniform with the correct Tap shoes.
     
    Hair should be up, neat and off the face. Any students with their hair down will be asked to put it up. Fringes and any straggling bits should be clipped back.  
     
    Musical Theatre/Contemporary/Jazz 
     
    Girls
     
    Students should wear black shorts or black leggings with a choice of any logo vest or tshirt/crop top/Hoodie can be warn. All tops must be logo uniform.


    Hair should be up, neat and off the face. Any students with their hair down will be asked to put it up. Fringes and any straggling bits should be clipped back.

    Boys

    Students should wear shorts or jogging bottoms with logo top/tshirt or leotard.


    Hip-Hop

    Girls/Boys

    Students may wear plain black track suits, leggings, and tops of their choice. Children are also invited to wear their own trainers.

  • Second hand uniform and costume sale

    We hold a second hand uniform and costume sale the second week of every term on the Monday and Friday in aid of Jacqui Taylor memorial fund. We desperately need more donations of uniform to keep this going. You can swap items for a small charge of £2 or donate them!
